As noted in our Impact spoilers for Thursday, May 24th, Gail Kim and Madison Rayne defeated ODB and Eric Young to seemingly win the TNA Knockouts Tag Titles last night. Prowrestling.net reports that the titles did not actually change hands, and that the bout was a non-title match.
According to reader John Tilton, who was at the taping and sent us the results, TNA led everyone in the audience to believe that the match was for the championship. Kim and Rayne cut a promo during the event stating that they were offended by a man holding the belt.
Kim and Rayne cheated to win the match, and then ran to the back immediately after winning with ODB and Young chasing after them. It is possible that they may have been stripped of the belts in a backstage segment, although that makes little sense since cheating is a part of many title changes in TNA.
Another fan who was at the taping noted on Twitter that he remembered Kim and Rayne being announced as the new Knockout tag team champions.
