DirecTV and Viacom remain at an impasse on a new contract, however DirecTV said yesterday that progress is being made on a new deal. Here is their official statement:
DIRECTV has been meeting several times daily with Viacom to bring back its most popular channels as soon as we can. We had more conversations today with progress being made. We don't anticipate this lasting much longer, but in the meantime, we announced today that we're adding Disney Junior this Saturday morning. We're also opening up a free preview of MLB Extra Innings for all of our customers through July 19 on channels 719-749. Rest assured we will continue our negotiations with Viacom all weekend. Thanks again for your patience, and continue to check DIRECTVpromise.com for the latest info.
