WWE noted on their Investor Twitter account that the distribution of "WWE content on Hulu Plus does not preclude WWE from executing or programming a WWE Network." I spoke to WWE spokesman Brian Flinn, who stated that the Hulu alliance and plans for the WWE Network are independent of each other.
"Our partnership with Hulu Plus is not a strategy for the launch of the WWE Network," Flinn told me yesterday.
WWE officially announced the multi-year agreement with Hulu Plus yesterday, which will offer fans next-day instant streaming access to all WWE TV programming via mobile phones, tablets, PCs, internet-connected TVs, set-top boxes and gaming consoles. You can sign up for a free Hulu Plus trial by clicking here.
