As noted earlier, WWE released their third quarter results for 2012. For the year through September 30th, WWE reported $70.6 million in pay-per-view revenue, up from $63.7 million for the same time frame in 2011.
Pay-per-view revenues for the third quarter were $16.3 million, as compared to $15.8 million in the prior year quarter. Much of the growth was due to the success of this year's SummerSlam pay-per-view, which was up 21% from last year's event.
Here are the updated pay-per-view buys for the third quarter:
| Broadcast Month | Event | 2012 | 2011 |
| July | Money in the Bank | 188K | 195K |
| August | SummerSlam | 358K | 296K |
| September | Night of Champions | 189K | 161K |
| Prior events | 54K | 106K | |
| Total | 789K | 758K |
