-Kurt Angle approaches Bruce Prichard and Al Snow and asks for Wes Briscoe to be in Gut Check. D-Lo Brown vouches for Wes and calls him a blue chipper. Kurt says Taz loves the idea and he leaves to talk to Taz before he gets an answer from Snow and Prichard as if they said yes.
-Bobby Roode makes his entrance. James Storm makes his way to the ring. Borash makes the formal introductions, with Roode first.
#1 Contenders Match: James Storm vs. Bobby Roode
Storm strikes Roode as soon as Borash says his name and the bell rings. He hits a back body drop on Roode and mounts him up top for punches to the head. Roode comes back and sends Storm out with a reverse shoulder. Roode takes the pad off the turnbuckle behind the ref's back. They each reverse each other's attempts to send their opponent into the steel. Roode takes Storm down with a flying armbar and wraps his arm around the steel post as we take another commercial break.
-We return to action in the ring. Roode is firmly in control. Roode continues to work the left arm of Storm. Storm fights out and they trade shots, toe to toe. Storm hits a Side Russian Leg Sweep and slowly gets up while heavily favoring his arm. Storm hits a series of clotheslines and an inverted atomic drop with a neckbreaker. Storm rushes into the corner where Roode is waiting. Roode launches Storm to the apron and Storm hits him with an Enzuigiri. Roode cuts Storm off up top but Storm brings him down with a big time powerbomb for 2. Roode slides out and hits a spinebuster for 2. Roode applies a crossface but Storm's boot reaches the bottom rope. Storm hits 2 consecutive Closing Times and riles the fans up for the follow up. Roode pushes the ref in the way of the Last Call and sends Storm into the exposed turnbuckle and grabs the tights for the win.
