The show opens with MizTV. John Cena is the guest. He comes out and wishes everyone happy New Year. Miz asks him about AJ Lee, and Cena says that it is over. Cena mentions that he is going to make an appearance at AJ and Ziggler's New Years Eve toast.
Rhodes Scholars interrupts, and Cena quotes RG3 to a huge response from the crowd. Sandow talks some trash and Cena challenges them to a tag match against him and Miz.
Rhodes and Cena start things off. Cena takes control and tags in Miz, who hits a double ax handle from up top. Cody goes back to his corner and tags in Sandow.
They tie up, Miz takes control, and Sandow escapes to the outside of the ring. After a commercial, Cena is in control of Sandow. Cena tags Miz in and Sandow takes control. He stomps Miz into the corner and tags in Rhodes. Miz regains control and unloads on Rhodes in another corner. Miz gets a two count.
Rhodes gets back to his corner and tags in Sandow, who takes control and hits the Elbow of Disdain for a two count. Rhodes and Sandow trade tags back and forth as they work on Miz.
Miz hits a quick roll up for a near pin fall. Rhodes hits a couple knees to the gut and then he and Sandow exchange tags again. Miz fights back and tags in Cena, who comes in fired up. He hits his flying should blocks to set up the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but Rhodes interrupts with a Beautiful Disaster.
Miz hits a Skull Crushing Finale on Rhodes, and then Cena hits the AA on Sandow for the three count.
Next up, things go backstage. Everything is set up for a New Years party. Ziggler thanks Vickie Guerrero for inviting him, which she did not. She tells him he will be facing Sheamus later in the night.
CM Punk and Paul Heyman come up to Vickie, and Punk talks about his hurt knee. Punk mention he brought his personal doctor from Chicago to prove it. He then persuades Vickie to make Ryback face The Shield in a handicap match. He kisses her on the cheek. Paul Heyman tries to as well but gets denied.
Next up, United States Champion Antonio Cesaro is in the ring. He talks about the monuments around DC and how he is the champion of them. He then says that he met the man who he wants to face.
Sgt. Slaughter comes out to a big crowd pop.
The two tie up, and Cesaro easily takes control. Slaughter fights back and locks in the Cobra Clutch, but Cesaro makes it to the ropes. Cesaro hits The Neutralizer for the three count, and then hits it again after his win.
Team Hell No is then shown backstage. They are angry because they wanted to face The Shield instead of Ryback. They hear 3MB down the hall and chant, "YES" to each other to announce their opponents.
Things go back to the party. Ricardo Rodriguez is getting a drink and The Big Show walks up. He offers him a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship and Rodriguez drops the drink.
Mae Young is then shown hanging out with the divas. Eve walks up and tells her that she will be choosing Young as her opponent.
Next up, Team Hell No faces 3MB (Slater and McIntyre) for the Tag Team Championships. Slater and Bryan start things off. Bryan takes control and hits a couple shoulder blocks. He locks in a surfboard, but Slater gets out.
Bryan tags in Kane and he hits a drop kick for a two count. Slater escapes and tags in McIntyre. Kane attacks him and tags Bryan back in. Bryan does his own dropkick for another two count.
