WWE NXT Recap: New Finisher For Mason Ryan, NXT Tag Team Title Tournament Continues And More

NXT this week starts off with a recap of Shawn Michaels' NXT Tag Team Tournament announcement from last week.

Derrick Bateman and Alex Riley vs. Kassius Ohno and Leo Kruger- NXT Tag Team Championship Tournament

Bateman and Kruger start things off. They tie up and Kruger shoves Bateman. They tie up again, and Kruger backs Bateman into the corner. The ref breaks it up.

They tie up again and Bateman takes control, landing a couple hip tosses. He then locks in a wristlock and Alex Riley comes in.

Kruger escapes to his corner and Ohno comes in. Riley goes for a quick pin, but Ohno kicks out and shoves a shoulder into Riley's gut.

Riley comes back with a hip toss. He hits Ohno with a knee to the gut, but Ohno counters with a chop. Ohno bounds off the ropes, and Riley hits a standing dropkick.

Bateman comes in with a big clothesline for a two count. He locks in a wristlock and chops Ohno several times. He then whips Ohno over the top rope, and then hits Kruger off the apron.

Back from commercial and Kruger backs Bateman into the corner. He then hits Bateman with some clubbing forearms. Bateman fights back with several chops. He charges at Kruger, but Kruger moves and his knee crashes into the turnbuckle.

Ohno comes in and goes to work on Bateman's knee. Kruger comes back in, and he goes to work on Bateman's knee too. He locks in a submission, and then slams it into the mat several times.

Ohno comes back in and locks in a leg grapevine. Bateman tries to fight back with some chops to the back, but Ohno clubs him to the mat. Kruger comes back in, and he locks in a leg submission as well.

Ohno comes back in and knees Bateman's head to the mat. He then stomps Bateman's head for a two count.

Ohno hits two spinning toeholds, and then Bateman counters into an inside cradle for a two count. Ohno immediately grabs Bateman's foot, but he is able to tag Riley in.

Riley comes in with a big Spinebuster. He hits Ohno with a DDT from the middle rope. He attempts the pin but Kruger breaks it up.

Riley talks trash on Kruger, and elbows him out of the ring. While he is distracted, Ohno kicks him in the face, and locks in his inverted chin lock. Riley taps out immediately.

Winners: Kassius Ohno and Leo Kruger

After the match, Corey Graves runs out and locks in the 13th Step on Alex Riley. Alex Riley screams in pain as two refs pull Graves off Riley.

Then, Big E Langston is being interviewed backstage. He is asked his thoughts on how Conor O'Brian called him out last week.

He says he can't wait to see what Conor thinks of the five count. He says if Conor isn't careful, he will put him to sleep permanently.

Sakamoto vs. Mason Ryan

They tie up and Sakamoto gets frustrated because Ryan doesn't move. They tie up again and Ryan tosses Sakamoto across the ring.

Sakamoto goes up top for a cross body, but Ryan catches him in mid air. He then drops a knee to Sakamoto's side, and then nails a fall away slam.

He whips Sakamoto into the corner, and then locks a vice grip onto Sakamoto's neck. Sakamoto tries to fight back with some kicks, but Ryan lands a big boot. He then hits a Jackhammer (unaware what he calls his version) for the win.

Winner: Mason Ryan

After the match, Xavier Woods is being interviewed in the back. He is listening to a CD player, and then pulls a pager out of his pocket. Woods says he doesn't have a cellphone because the beeper is cheaper. He mentions that he will be facing El Local (masked Ricardo Rodriguez) next week.

Aksana vs. Paige

Aksana picks up Paige and puts her on the tope rope, pushing her to the outside. Aksana puts her back in the ring, and then slingshots her into the ropes.

Aksana rubs her forearms against Paige's face, and then drives her foot into Paige's back. She whips Paige into the corner and then hits a sidewalk slam.

Paige fights back with several forearms. Aksana goes up top, but Paige pulls her off and slams her to the mat. Paige then locks in a modified Sharpshooter for the win.

Winner: Paige

After the match, Paige accidentally stumbles into the ring announcer, Summer Rae. She apologizes and turns around, and Summer Rae blindsides her with a clothesline.

Sasha Banks is backstage, and she says that her first win last week was big for her. She says she can't believe it, and the sky's the limit. A worker comes up and gives her a card from a secret admirer.

Back from commercial, and the Royal Rumble Fan Fest /NXT Tournament is recapped.

Bo Dallas and Michael McGillicutty vs. Primo and Epico (with Rosa Mendes)- NXT Tag Team Championship Tournament

Dallas and Primo start things off. Dallas backs Primo into the corner. Primo counters into a side headlock.

Dallas hits a big hip toss, and Primo escapes to the outside. He comes back in and they tie up. Primo backs Dallas into his corner, and Epico comes in.

Epico attacks for a few minutes, and Primo comes back in. He hits a body slam, and goes for an elbow drop, but Dallas moves. He hits Primo with a back body drop, followed by an atomic drop.

Michael comes in, and they hit a double elbow on Primo. Primo fights to his corner and Epico comes in. Michael lands several knife-edge chops.

Dallas comes back in with a big knee to the gut. Michael comes back in with a standing dropkick. He attacks for a few moments, and then slingshots Epico out of the ring.

Back from commercial, and Michael hits Epico with a running dropkick. He then sends Michael to the apron, and kicks him off. Epico hits him with a chop on the outside, and then sends him back in the ring.

Epico taunts Michael, and then chops him again. Primo comes back in, and kicks Michael in the face. He then knees Michael in the face for a two count.

Primo locks in a body scissors. Michael fights to his feet, and goes for a clothesline but Primo lands a drop toehold.

Epico comes in and locks in a chin lock. Michael fights out with some punches. They both bound off the ropes, and then they hit heads and both men are out.

Dallas and Primo both come in, and Dallas takes control with a flurry of punches and knees. Dallas nails a bulldog from the corner. Primo fights back, but Dallas hits a belly-to-belly Suplex out of nowhere for the win.

Winners: Bo Dallas and Michael McGillicutty
