- The show begins with a memoriam to William "Paul Bearer" Moody, 1954 – 2013. Personally, I was deeply saddened when I read the news last night. The Paul Bearer character is part of the fabric of my childhood. That signature creepy but iconic voice was a familiar staple in the home. I love Mr. Moody for that and express my deepest condolences to his family. Sadly, we often don't appreciate what we have until it's gone.
- We go to the opening package then pyro and crowd shots from Albany, NY. Michael Cole says we are 32 days away from WrestleMania and welcomes us to the show.
- Randy Orton's music hits and he makes his way to the ring. The Miz is on commentary with Cole. Wade Barrett cuts a promo on his way down the ramp. Barrett wants to give us a glimpse into his life as a major Hollywood superstar. He says he was hobnobbing with Hollywood's elite during the premiere of his movie, Dead Man Down. Barrett sends to footage and interviews from the red carpet. Barrett makes his way in front of the announce booth and takes note of a "Marine" and "Hollywood wannabe" he hopes was paying attention to the video he just played. Orton finally gets tired of waiting and brings Barrett in the hard way. The ref backs Orton up in the corner as Barrett removes his shirt and the bell rings.
Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett
Barrett goes at Orton immediately but Orton ducks and unloads in the corner. Orton hits a reverse elbow after some back-and-forth and proceeds to systematically stomp on Barrett's body. Barrett fights to his feet and puts on the brakes off the ropes but Orton clotheslines him over the top as we take our first commercial break.
Barrett has gained control as we return to action. He gets 2 on Orton and drops a big knee across Orton's gut. Orton fights up from a headlock and counters with a side suplex. Barrett slowly gets to his feet and Orton is happy to catch his breath. Orton hits a standing dropkick for 2. Miz says he has never been in a singles match with Barrett but he has been in the ring with him and says Barrett is a guy you have to watch. Orton hits mounted shots in the corner and hits a snap suplex for 2. Barrett immediately rolls out of the ring and draws Orton into a trap as he slams Orton into the steel steps and sends him back in the ring. They battle on the apron and Barrett hits a mule kick to Orton's gut, sending him back to the floor.
Back from a break as we see a replay and Cole tells us that Barrett has been working Orton's abs while we were away. Barrett hits a big kick to Orton's skull and gets 2. Orton rolls back out of the ring and lures Barrett out but Barrett sends Orton to the steps again. Barrett wastes too much time up top in the corner and Orton takes advantage with a huge superplex. Orton slides into position but Barrett kicks out. The pace quickens with some nice back-and-forth. Orton hits his ropes DDT. "Vintage Orton," says Cole. Orton coils-up but Barrett escapes and drives Orton's throat across the top ropes as he drops to the floor. Barrett quickly reenters and kicks Orton in the face. Orton barely kicks out. Barrett pulls up his elbow pad and calls for the end but Orton counters with a powerslam and follows-up with the RKO for the win.
Winner by pin: Randy Orton
