ROH News: New ROH Title Matches Signed, Steen Vs. SCUM News, New Tuesday Rollout

- ROH officials have announced two new contenders for Jay Briscoe's ROH World Championship. On June 1st, at Ring of Honor's event in San Antonio, Texas, Davey Richards will battle Briscoe for the title. On June 7th, in Charleston, WV, Eddie Edwards will face off against Briscoe with the title on the line.

Nigel McGuiness had this to say to ROHWrestling.com: "I took a look at our upcoming events and decided to load up on the World Title matches for our fans around the country. We need to mark our debut in San Antonio with a World Title match and West Virginia was so good to us last time that I knew one had to happen there as well. Then I took a look at our locker room and it hit me that there were two individuals in particular who, in my mind, deserved a chance to reclaim something they lost. Davey Richards has been boxed out of the picture since he lost to Kevin Steen at Best in the World nearly a year ago and Eddie Edwards, after he took on Steen at our last visit to Charleston, ended up in the same position this year when he lost the Defy or Deny battle. Two former World Champions, two of the best in the world today, and I know no matter if it's Jay Briscoe, Adam Cole, or BJ Whitmer who holds the belt that both Wolves will give the fans their money's worth in a World Title bout! Plus, as a fan myself, the possibility of seeing Eddie and Davey tussle once again is just too good."

- Kevin Steen has made it well known to ROH Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness that he wishes to bring SCUM down, so Nigel has given him the chance and signed two matches. On Saturday, May 11th in Pittsburgh, Steen will go one on one with Rhett Titus and on Saturday, May 18th, in Richmond, Steen will collide with Jimmy Jacobs.

Nigel McGuinness had this to say to ROHWrestling.com: "I wouldn't quite call them demands. To be frank, Steen was a bit humble about these requests...passionate, fired up yes, but not demanding. He wants to kill what Corino created, one by one, Kevin Steen wants to take down each member of S.C.U.M and he wants it to start this weekend in Pittsburgh. Now I think I've made it clear that I want nothing more than those cowards to be put down like rabid animals and of course I will give anyone the opportunity to do just that so Steen has my blessing in this course of action. Mind you, this is not a sign of trust Kevin. For far too long you made it your mission to tear this company down and the way I look at you, the way the locker room looks at you, it doesn't just change overnight. Hell mate, we heard the same thing from Corino for over a year and look where we stand with him now. This is the time to prove yourself to all of us...to the fans, to the boys in the locker room, to yourself...and you can start with Rhett Titus in Pittsburgh!"
