TNA Live Event Results From Birmingham (5/10): Abyss In Action, AJ Styles Vs. Bobby Roode

Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Glover Parker for sending in these results from last night's TNA live event at the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama:

Attendance was between 800 and 1000, but they were quite a loud bunch.

The show started off with a match between Robbie E and Rockstar Spud. A comedy match slowly turned into a solid match with Rockstar Spud getting the pinfall.

Next up was Joseph Park vs. Christopher Daniels. Daniels lit up the mic belittling the crowd and taunting them throughout the match. Not much from Park. A few bodyslams and a mid rope splash for the pinfall.

The Knockouts title is up as Velvet Sky, nursing a knee injury, takes on Gail Kim. A hard hitting battle takes place as Gail focused on Velvet's injury with dropkicks and submission attempts. Velvet managed to find some offense ala John Cena's five moves of doom and managed to roll up Kim up with a small package for the win.

The World Tag Team Championship were on the line next as Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez took on Wes Brisco and Garrett Bischoff of the Aces and 8s. Solid match with improvement coming from Bischoff, but the strength of Hernandez's shoulder attacks and Chavo's frog splash finished the up and coming stars.

Fight of the night is next as Bobby Roode takes on the darker AJ Styles. Most of the heat on the outside of the ring as Roode and a larger lady in the audience have a war of words, even stopping mid-match to tell her to sit her fat ass down. A hard hitting and painful match with AJ in particular taking numerous hard shots, forcing spit to fly into the crowd. They both are also pulling down Earl Hebner's jogging pants during the match. Styles managed to hit his calf killer for the win. Roode is livid after the match and challenges the woman from ringside to get in the ring to fight. You couldn't tell if he was serious or not. A great overall talent.

As the main event is about to start, we are informed that James Storm will be unable to compete tonight due to being injured on Impact the night before. Storm comes out with a beer and wants to drink with the crowd when Bully Ray shows up and keeps intentionally forgetting what city he was in. He challenges to fight members of the crowd saying, 'do you want to fight me?'. He makes a huge mistake next and says "Who in the backs wants to F me?" Storm quickly gets off that topic and says he has a guy in the back to challenge him and the returning Abyss comes out. Crowd goes crazy. Following a low blow by Garrett Bischoff on Abyss, the match gets underway. Lots of Joseph Park and D-Von chants. The crowd insisted on calling Bully Ray D-Von. Bully eventually got DQed when Bischoff and Brisco interfered.

Overall, it was a great show and I can't wait to see them again.
