WWE Looks At Hulk Hogan's Defection, Alumni Profile Added, Rock Merchandise Marked Down, NXT

- WWE.com has an interesting article looking at Hulk Hogan leaving WWF for WCW in 1993 at this link. The article stated that Hogan left WWF "with a whimper" after losing to Yokozuna at the King of the Ring pay-per-view in 1993. After Ted Turner decided decided to put some money into WCW, he asked Eric Bischoff to try to turn the company around. Bischoff then turned to Ric Flair to help setup a meeting with Hogan, and the rest is history.

The article noted that several people backstage in WCW were not happy with Hogan signing, feeling that it would keep the younger stars down. The story admitted that Hogan's signing gave WCW a shot in the arm, and was instrumental in the launch of Monday Nitro, forcing WWE to up their game and bring in the Attitude Era.
