Impact Wrestling Review: The Advent Of TN'MM'A
Bobby Roode vs. Hernandez was a good match, and the promo cut by Roode was much needed to regain some momentum for his character. Unfortunately, it appears as if Hernandez will just be used as a jobber, in which he deserves much better. At least some dignity remained for Hernandez as a result of getting hit in the head by the beer bottle.
Joseph Park vs. Jay Bradley was a battle of the two wrestlers that deserve the least to be in the series. The match was not terrible, but it really did not mean much. However, I will say that Park's alignment with Eric Young is a way to freshen his character.
Chris Sabin vs. Manik was a good match, but was it really a smart idea to book the newly-crowned X Division champion in a midcard match with the TNA World Heavyweight Champion? I don't think so. Manik needs as much momentum as he can possibly get, and so does Sabin. Honestly, it looked like a normal X Division match, but Bully Ray did bring a needed addition to the segment by attacking Sabin, but Sabin getting the upperhand.
ODB vs. Gail Kim was decent match, but nothing spectacular. The double countout finish could very well lead to a triple threat match between the two and Mickie James. The good thing is that the division is starting to get relevant again.
Austin Aries vs. AJ Styles was a fantastic match. Such a pleasure to see these two stars showcasing their talent in the ring. The only bad part of the match was, of course, the end. Such as anti-climatic finish to an amazing match.
The last segment between the Main Event Mafia and Aces and Eights was a bit of a buzzkill, but I am interested to see who the next person that will be potentially released is. My first guess would be Knux, because he still has not made any kind of impression in TNA.
The ending with the reveal of the #August1Warning was an absolute bust. For them to release wrestlers who had some potential to boom and replace them with Tito Ortiz is just bad any way you slice it. To acquire King Mo, Rampage Jackson and now Tito Ortiz in TNA and expect for the numbers gauge to go anywhere but stagnant or negative is wishful thinking to say the least.
Sound off below with your thoughts on the #August1Warning reveal.
