WWE SmackDown Results: Del Rio Vs. Christian, Orton Vs. RVD, Brock Lesnar Speaks On Punk

- You know, the SmackDown theme song is kind of catchy. It leads to Randy Orton's music and Mr. Money in the Bank makes his way to the ring for our opening contest. Michael Cole and JBL are at ringside. Rob Van Dam makes his entrance.

Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam

The bell rings as the front row chants "RVD." That skull-shirt-guy is in the audience. Some guy has a whistle as he stands up and leads "RVD" chants. Van Dam lands a heel kick to Orton. Orton pulls the ropes down and RVD falls to the floor. RVD gets the advantage at ringside and drapes Orton on the barricade. RVD rolls in to break the count and delivers a spin kick from the apron to Orton's back.

We return from a break and Orton is in full control in the ring. He lands a knee to RVD's face and delivers mounted shots in the corner. RVD hops on the top but Orton pushes him off from behind. Orton goes out and drops RVD on the guard rail and brings him back in for 2. Orton works a headlock on the mat as the vocal RVD fans continue to show support. Van Dam fights to his feet and hits the split legged moonsault in the corner for 2. Van Dam hits another dive from up top for 2. Orton side-steps RVD in the corner and hits a backbreaker but Van Dam kicks out. Cole is super late in his reaction to RVD's kick-out.

Orton hits a couple of clotheslines and his signature powerslam for 2. RVD counters the ropes-DDT. Orton hits a dropkick to RVD on the apron. Orton hits the ropes-DDT. Randy Orton coils up as the crowd comes alive. RVD blocks the RKO and lands a kick and rolls Orton up for 2. RVD hits Rolling Thunder but misses with the 5-Star Frogsplash. Orton hits the RKO for the win.

- Back from a break with The Miz in the ring for MizTV. Miz welcomes AJ Lee and Big E Langston to the ring. He asks what the relationship is between them. AJ says Big E is her best friend. Miz asks her about her other "friends" like Cena, Punk, Bryan, Kane, and Ziggler. AJ says she has always had her heart broken but that her title will never abandon her. She calls Ziggler a selfish, cold-hearted little man. Ziggler interrupts and joins them in the ring.

Ziggler says women just can't get over him and AJ is no different. AJ says Ziggler will never will be able to touch her again. Kaitlyn comes out and says she can touch her. All four start to argue in the ring and Miz shuts them up. Miz says it is his show and since he is also the host of SummerSlam, he will make a match: Ziggler & Kaitlyn vs. AJ & Big E. Kaitlyn says she can't wait to slap the crazy off AJ's face. AJ attacks Kaitlyn. Big E pulls Kaitlyn off AJ and Ziggler gives him the Zig Zag. Kaitlyn spears AJ and lays her out on the mat. Kaitlyn and Ziggler stand tall in the ring.

- Alberto Del Rio complains to Vickie Guerrero about having to face Christian tonight. Vickie says what Del Rio did to Ricardo was despicable and that's why she made the match. Del Rio asks what if he gets hurt and what will that do to her main event at the PPV. She says that is a risk she is willing to take.

- Summer Rae and Fandango dance to the ring as we go to break. Fandango's music plays as we return. Kofi Kingston makes his entrance.

Fandango vs. Kofi Kingston

Kofi starts off strong with kicks. He leaps and hits a splash in the corner. Fandango launches Kofi to the floor and snap suplexes him. Fandango takes over in the ring and holds on to a headlock. Kofi comes back and sends Fandango into the steel post. The crowd is legitimately on fire tonight. Kofi goes on a flurry and Fandango goes out to regroup. Summer checks on him and gets in the way of Kofi. Kofi leaps off the apron anyway and tackles Fandango. Summer fakes an ankle injury and Fandango attacks Kofi from behind and sends him into the steel post. Fandango lands a beautiful top tope legdrop in the ring for the win.

- Renee Young stops Daniel Bryan in the back and asks him about his makeover on RAW. He says he is who he is and the only thing he will change is history when he beats Cena for the title at SummerSlam. He says to tell Vince McMahon, "The Beard is Still Here."

- Daniel Bryan makes his way to the ring to an amazing reaction. A freshly shaved Wade Barrett makes his entrance. He has the clippers in his hand and he rubs his chin and we see footage from Monday of what happened. Barrett places the clippers on the announce table.

Bryan starts off with Yes Kicks with the crowd firmly behind him. Wade hits him with a vicious clothesline that sends Bryan over the top. Barrett throws Bryan around at ringside and gets 2 in the ring. Barrett kicks Bryan right in the head and lays him out on the apron. Barrett stretches Bryan out on the mat. Bryan battles back and drop toe-holds Barrett to the turnbuckle. Barrett catches Bryan in Winds of Change for 2. Barrett grabs the clippers and tried to but of the beard. Bryan fights it and comes off the apron with a flying knee. Bryan sends him in and hits a flying headbutt off the top. Bryan applies the Yes Lock and Barrett taps out.

Winner by submission: Daniel Bryan

Bryan stomps on the clippers on the steps and destroys them.

- Renee Young interviews Damien Sandow in the back. She shows him footage of his briefcase in the Gulf of Mexico. He silences her and unveils a new "Sandow-ized" case. It is brown leather looking and looks very regal and sophisticated. He says he will cash it in and become World Champion of the unwashed masses.

- Kane makes his way to the ring where his opponents, 3MB, await.

3 on 1 Handicap Match: Kane vs. 3MB

3MB attack Kane and he clears the ring of all of them. Kane goes out and throws them around into the furniture with intensity. Kane throws Slater into crowd and hits a chokeslam on Jinder in the ring for the win.

Winner by pin: Kane

Bray Wyatt and his rocking chair appear on the Titantron. He says Kane's fire fears him. Bray says the fire can't hurt him because he is already dead. Bray laughs diabolically and Kane sets off the ring pyro. (That Wyatt promo was very eerie. The way the rocking chair appeared on the screen at first looked to be a giant chair suspended above the ring. Bray was great as always. Nothing I could type here would do it justice. Just fantastic stuff.)

- We go to a prerecorded, produced promo from Brock Lesnar. He says Punk is a joke and that he never liked him. Lesnar says the only reason he let Punk exist all this time is because of respect for Paul Heyman. He says Punk takes beginner's MMA classes and thinks that makes him tough. Lesnar says he is the beast and the best.

Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio

They lock up and jockey for position. Del Rio gets the better of that exchange. Christian comes back into a side headlock on the mat. These crazy fans in the front row are doing the Viking/Berserker hand gesture. Christian sends Del Rio to the floor and hits a basement dropkick as we go to break.

Del Rio is in control on the ring as we return to action. He jumps on Christian's back for 2. The action goes back to the floor and Del Rio sidesteps as Christian leaps off the top and crashes into the security wall. Del Rio goes back to a headlock in the ring. Christian comes back but Del Rio lands a vicious kick to the head. They chant "USA" at Del Rio. Del Rio hangs Christian upside down in the corner and unloads with kicks. Christian fights back with strikes. They both go up top and fight for the advantage but both end up falling off to the floor.

Back to the ring as we return. More back and forth. Christian manages to peel himself off the mat and deliver a hurricanrana off the top but is unable to capitalize for the pin. Del Rio gets up first and delivers shoulders in the corner. Christian hits a missile dropkick and flies off with crossbody for 2. Christian comes off the top again, this time with an elbow to the jaw. Del Rio counters out of the Killswitch and hits a backbreaker for 2. Christian goes for it again but Del Rio counters into the Backstabber for a near fall.

Christian ducks a superkick to the face and hits a spear but only gets 2. Del Rio comes back and sends Christian into the post. Christian slips out of the cross armbreaker and rolls Del Rio up for 2. Del Rio lands his kick to the face and gets up slowly. Christian rolls up Del Rio in a small package, out of nowhere, for the win.

Winner by pin: Christian

Del Rio throws a fit at ringside as we see a replay. Del Rio gets back in the ring and goes to grab him but Christian hits the Killswitch and leaves the ring. Del Rio lies in the ring face-down as Sandow's music hits and he comes down with the briefcase and a ref. Sandow goes to cash it in but Cody Rhodes appears and attacks Sandow from the top rope. Cody hits Cross Rhodes and lays Sandow out in the ring.
