Jon Jones UFC 170 Fight Already Nixed, UFC Weigh-In Results, UFC 167 Pre-Fight Presser Recap
- Only one day after it was announced that UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones would be defending his title against Glover Teixeira at UFC 170, it was revealed that the bout had been postponed. Initially booked for UFC 169 -- the promotion's annual Super Bowl show -- Jones vs. Teixeira was quickly rescheduled for UFC 170. Once again, the bout has been hurriedly postponed, with the new target being UFC 171. UFC president Dana White revealed the delay at the UFC 167 pre-fight press conference and couldn't give a reason as to why the fight was moved yet again.
However, Jones hinted through his Twitter account that trying to fight any sooner would see him enter the cage at less than his best.
"I want to do my job wholeheartedly and give you all nothing but my best," posted Jones. "Please excuse the time I felt that was necessary."
UFC 171 does not currently have a date or venue set, but will likely take place in late February or early March.
