- UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has finally nailed down a return date. It was announced recently on UFC Tonight that Jones will be returning to action on March 15 to take on challenger Glover Teixeira. Jones and Teixeira will meet on March 15 at UFC 171 in Dallas, Texas at the American Airlines Center.

Jones and Teixeira have been set to meet at two previous dates, UFC 169 and UFC 170, but lingering injuries from Jones' controversial decision win over Alexander Gustafsson this past September kept him from competing.

- Shortly after winning the UFC lightweight title from Benson Henderson this past August, Anthony Pettis found out that his knee was too injured to defend his title in December as planned.

During a recent appearance on UFC Tonight, Pettis revealed that he hopes to back in action within six months – though his doctor laid out a timeline of 6-8 months. Though Josh Thomson and Benson Henderson are fighting soon for what is ostensibly a title shot – not to mention that TJ Grant is still hanging in the wings – Pettis named another contender that he's looking to take on next.

"Nate Diaz has been talking so much," Pettis said. "He looked pretty decent in his last fight. I hope he works his way up and we get to fight."

Diaz just rebounded from a two-fight losing streak with a brutally impressive win over Gray Maynard.
