Anderson Silva Return Update, Michael Bisping Finally Cleared, UFC 169 Weigh In Results
"He's going to heal great," White said. "He's going to come back. The bone will be stronger. If you blow your ACL, you're out for a year and three months. Rehab is gruesome on the thing, and you don't know if you're going to perform the same way. He broke a bone. He's going to be good.
"I'm downplaying it. It hurt like hell. I don't ever want to break my bone like that, but he's got a broken bone."
Silva snapped his left tibia and fibula while attempting to reclaim his title from Chris Weidman last month.
- The UFC has announced that Michael Bisping has been medically cleared to fight from the detached retina he suffered last October. Bisping is currently slated to face off against Tim Kennedy on April 16 at the TUF Nations Finale, which will take place at the Colisee Pepsi in Quebec. Months of trash talk have paved the way for the middleweight bout, which will headline the event on FOX Sports 1. Bisping last fought in April of last year, where he earned a technical decision over Alan Belcher; that bout put Bisping back in the win column after suffering a knockout to Vitor Belfort. Kennedy is on a three fight winning streak that stretches back to his Strikeforce days, having beaten Trevor Smith, Roger Gracie and Rafael Natal (the latter two in the UFC).
- You can catch the full weigh-in results for UFC 169, which takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, tomorrow night. Don't forget to check back on WrestlingInc.com this Saturday for our live, play-by-play coverage of the event.
