- Former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva is already back up and throwing kicks with his surgically repaired leg following the gruesome break he suffered in his fight against Chris Weidman at UFC 168 in December. In a recently released video via UOL Esporte, which you can check out above, Silva is seen repeatedly kicking an inflatable ball. While there is no time frame yet on when Silva will be back and ready to fight, UFC president Dana White stated back in January at the UFC 169 pre-fight press conference that he "he's going to come back, the bone will be stronger."
- On a recent episode of MMAjunkie Radio, Johny Hendricks, who will be fighting Robbie Lawler for the vacant UFC Welterweight Championship at UFC 171 this Saturday, stated that he wants to see former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre back in the UFC.
"I hope we get him back. I hope I can get this belt and get a couple fights underneath me, and he comes back," said Hendricks. "That's what I'm shooting for."
St. Pierre officially vacated the title back in December and took a break from MMA following a controversial split decision victory over Hendricks at UFC 167 in November. While Hendricks hopes to get a rematch with GSP, he won't consider his legacy tarnished if he never gets the opportunity.
"He's just a man. I've proved enough my last fight, and if he doesn't come back, I proved enough. If I continue to win and do everything that I'm able to, then it doesn't matter. Because by that time, hopefully they won't forget him, but in five years or 10 years, they'll forget who I was."
