WWE announced the following today:
WWE® Teams up with Drew Brees and Boys & Girls Clubs for Kids Charity Auction
WWE is joining forces with New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Marlon Wayans, Tyler Perry, Jimmy Kimmel and other high-profile celebrities and professional athletes to launch a global online auction to benefit The Brees Dream Foundation and Boys and Girls Clubs.
The auction, which launches today on Charitybuzz.com/WWE, features more than 100 unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences with WWE Superstars, Divas and Legends, celebrities and athletes. The WWE Universe can bid on the opportunity to meet Brees at a Saints game, meet Kimmel at a live taping of his show, or join Daniel Bryan during his entrance at a WWE live event.
In addition to the online auction, Marlon Wayans, the producer and star of the upcoming comedy, "A Haunted House 2," will join Brees as a special guest at the Superstars for Kids red carpet party to help kick off WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans. Wayans will lead a live auction where additional once-in-a-lifetime experiences will be made available for bidding after Superstars, Divas, Legends, athletes and celebrities walk the red carpet for a great cause.
"I can't thank WWE enough for their support of The Brees Dream Foundation," Brees said. "The funds raised will be used to support our ongoing global efforts to help improve the quality of life for cancer patients and provide care, education and opportunities for children and families in need."
"Boys & Girls Clubs is honored that WWE recognizes the value of our work, not only in New Orleans but on the Westbank and Northshore, and the deep need of our club kids and the tremendous impact membership has on their lives," said Frank Sanchez, National Vice President, Sports, Entertainment & Alumni Development. "We are thrilled that Boys & Girls Clubs has been chosen as one of the beneficiaries for this year's WrestleMania philanthropic activities and look forward to a long lasting relationship between WWE and our organization."
"WWE is honored to partner with The Brees Dream Foundation and the Boys and Girls Clubs for Superstars for Kids," said WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon. "We are committed to improving the lives of children around the world, and I know that together we can significantly impact the lives of those touched by these two organizations."
