Thanks to WrestlingInc.com reader Chris Icenhour for sending in these results from tonight's WWE live event in Raleigh, NC:
Went to the WWE Live show tonight in Raleigh, NC. First live WWE event for me. Went to WCW Nitro back in 1998, but that couldn't compare to the atmosphere here. Very good seats, I was about 8 rows away from floor seating.
I'm going to give a general information for each match, and some big things that happened as well.
Pretty good pop for Kofi, good heat from Miz and a big pop for Big E (which really surprised me). Good starting match. Big E ends up getting the pin on the Miz after Kofi hits the SOS on the Miz and Big E knocks out Kofi with a huge clothesline. And hits Miz with the Big Ending and retains. Again very loud pop for Big E.
Nothing special here, only thing I remember was the ending with one of the Bellas hitting a pretty nasty back breaker on Layla for the 1.2.3.
OMG Zeb Coulter is a heat magnet and the fans were eating him alive and of course, I loved it. After he made the statement," it was great to be in South Carolina (we're in NC), he then proceeded to say, "don't be mad at him because none of the NC teams were in the Sweet Sixteen (LOL)!" And of course, I had to stand for the WE THE PEOPLE salute. As far as the match goes, very generic. I don't remember seeing any uppercuts from Cesaro, but we did get the Swing on R-Truth. The Real Americans did end up getting the win. Surprised there wasnt a little friction between Swagger and Cesaro, but who knows where they are going with those two.
Kane vs. Daniel Bryan
This was match of the night for me, just because of what happened at the end. Kane comes out to a chorus of boos and Bryan gets one of the loudest pops of the night up til then. Good match with good crowd presence from D Bry and Kane, using the YES and NO chants to their favor. Back and forth match and then Bryan starts to lock in the YES Lock and right when he starts to get it in my dad notices someone rushing the ring and I couldn't see who it was... it was Ryback!?!? I was a little confused. Ryback sets Bryan up for the Meathook close line and then Bryan comes back out comes Curtis Axel. Then the Real Americans are beating the crap outta Daniel Bryan and then... THE SHIELD arrive and the roof blows up! Everyone was cheering and they rushed the ring and got some payback for what those guys did to them on the previous Smackdown! Reigns hits the Superman punch and then a big spear to Ryback and ends with Daniel Bryan and The Shield shaking hands and that leads us to the intermission.
That pop from the Shield was amazing...goosebumps
So back from intermission and that leads us to....
I don't know why Ziggler was in this match TBH. I like Ziggler but he had a very poor pop. Nothing important here only thing I learned was that Emma is actually alot more attractive in person than on TV. Santino should have been in this match IMO.
Damien Sandow vs. The Big Show
Wow, the heat Damien Sandow received was huge. He came out with a mic complaining about how the people should cheer for him when he comes back out again. Reminded me of Kurt Angle when the people would chant "You Suck" and he would go back and enter again..lol. And surprisingly enough, a lot of people got up and cheered for him when he re-entered. But this match was nothing but Big Show being silly and "squashing" Sandow.
Main Event: The Rhodes Bros & John Cena vs. The Wyatt Family
Great match here, so I left at the end of the Sandow match to go and get a t-shirt and when I returned the Rhodes had already entered and John Cena's music hit and the place erupted right when I entered my section. (I thought the cheers were for me and my new shirt :P) John Cena's entrance was now the biggest pop of the night. This was the second best match of the night. A lot of "Let's Go Cena" chants, and very little "Cena Sucks" chants. But I had to keep it real and chant "Cena Sucks", even though the little kids looked like they wanted to beat me up... lol. But anyway, the match was back and forth typical 6 man tag team tactics. The ending was Cena hitting the AA to Luke Harper and the place erupted even more and I couldn't believe it. So Cena got an even louder pop from the crowd when he got the Victory.
Overall one of the best times I've ever had watching wrestling, and I look forward to doing it again in the near future.
