- UFC female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will not be punished for making comments about Cris "Cyborg" Justino, UFC president Dana White told MMAjunkie.com. Rousey referred to Cyborg as an "it," making reference to her past drug test for an anabolic steroid.
"I think that this is the fight business, and people say mean things about each other," White said. "Is it not true? Has (Cyborg) not taken (steroids)? She got busted for taking Winstrol, the same drug that Ben Johnson took and many other athletes took to do what? To heat. Ronda called her an (expletive) cheat."
White added that it is not "worth it for me in the big picture" to bring Cyborg into the UFC at this point. He also said there will be no forced apology from Rousey to her by the promotion. Rousey will defend her title in July against Alexis Davis at UFC 175.
- Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski is returning to the Octagon. Arlovski last fought for the UFC several years ago, winning the title when he submitted Tim Sylvia. UFC president Dana White confirmed the signing on Twitter.
Arlovski (21-10) has won his last two and is 6-1 overall with one no-contest since a loss in Strikeforce to Sergei Kharitonov. He owns 15 career knockout victories and three submission wins. No word yet when he will make his official return inside the Octagon.
Welcome back Andrei Arlovski!— Dana White (@danawhite) April 24, 2014
