Source: F4WOnlineAs noted, WWE referee Marc Harris was released by WWE this past week along with 10 other talents. Harris is the same referee who had an argument with Jimmy Korderas on Twitter after Harris blew a finish several months ago. Harris had heat on him ever since that so he became the most expendable of the referees.
Regarding this week's releases, a second source has now noted to F4WOnline that they were apparently done to help stem the losses from WWE Network start-up costs and the cannibalization of WWE's pay-per-view business. The idea within WWE has been to avoid doing releases, instead just letting contracts expire, but obviously that had to change.
