Nick Diaz Disappointed With Michael Phelps, Wanderlei Silva On UFC HOF, UFC 179 Preview

- Chad Mendes will once again enter into enemy territory on October 25 when he challenges Jose Aldo for the featherweight title at UFC 179. The event takes place from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and you can see a preview in the video above.

Mendes fought Aldo once before in Brazil, falling via knockout with just a second left in the opening round. He's worked his way back to being the No. 1 contender. Other bouts planned for the night include Phil Davis-Glover Teixeira, Fabio Maldonado-Hans Stringer, Darren Elkins-Lucas Martins and Beneil Dariush-Diego Ferreira.

As always, Wrestling Inc. will have complete main card coverage and all your results for the card.

- Wanderlei Silva doesn't expect an invite to the UFC's Hall of Fame, and "The Axe Murderer" is quite content with that. Silva was suspended indefinitely by the Nevada Athletic Commission earlier this year after failing to take a mandatory drug test. He told Submission Radio out of Australia about his lack of interest in the HOF recognition previously given to the likes of Matt Hughes, Royce Gracie, Forrest Griffin and others.

"I don't want (it). If the guys invite me I won't accept, because my Hall of Fame is my fans. My fans are the Hall of Fame. Not him," Silva said. "He does not decide who goes into the Hall of Fame. The fans decide," he said. "He can't decide everything. No. The guys go to the Hall of Fame just for him (laughs). No way man, I don't accept. If the guy is asking me, I don't go."

Silva was scheduled to meet Chael Sonnen in July before both eventually were suspended by the NAC. Silva also stated he had no desire to compete in any other promotion at this time.

- Former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz has his own issues involving DUI charges and the law, but that didn't stop him from letting it be known he is "disappointed" in decorated U.S. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps. Phelps was recently charged with DUI and suspended for six months by USA Swimming, knocking him out of the upcoming World Championships.

Diaz and his legal matters are not expected to keep him from facing Anderson Silva this January at UFC 183.
