Fabricio Werdum Talks Cain Velasquez's UFC 180 Withdrawal, Mark Hunt's Weight, UFC 179 Embedded

- UFC 179: Embedded has returned for this Saturday's pay-per-view event from Brazil, and the first episode is quite enjoyable. Jose Aldo, the reigning featherweight champion, talks about his challenger, Chad Mendes, and you can see it in the video above.

The episode also features Mendes getting in some practice with Nate Diaz, along with packing his bags for the long trip to Brazil. Wrestling Inc. will have coverage of UFC 179, including live play-by-play of the main card.

- As noted yesterday, Fabricio Werdum found out that he won't be facing Cain Velasquez next month at UFC 180 for the heavyweight title. Instead, he'll meet Mark Hunt for the interim belt from Mexico City. For Werdum, though, all that matters is gold is on the line.

"The important thing for me is that I'm ready to fight," Werdum said in an interview with UFC.com. "The object was never Cain Velasquez. It's always been the belt. Since I got back to the UFC, it's been about getting the belt and it doesn't matter from who. I just want the belt and I'm ready to fight anybody."

Werdum, who defeated Travis Browne earlier this year even after being declared the No. 1 contender, did add that he is a "little bit sad for Cain and about not fighting him right now, but I'm ready to fight for the belt." He is 7-1 in his last eight fights overall, including a win over former interim UFC champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

- Mark Hunt didn't think for a second about not accepting a fight on short-notice for the interim UFC heavyweight title against Fabricio Werdum. The two will meet on November 15 at UFC 180 after Cain Velasquez went down with an injury.

For Hunt, the only concern is making 265 pounds. A number he'll have to hit dead-on to make the bout official.

"Only challenge is making weight," said Hunt, in an interview with MMAFighting.com after news of the fight broke.

Hunt disclosed that he is officially 302 pounds, giving himself a little over three weeks to cut 37 pounds. Earlier this year, rumors he was overweight for his fight with Roy Nelson were dismissed when Hunt made the limit.
