Alberto Del Rio Talks The Day CM Punk Walked Out On WWE, Changes Made, His Reaction

Alberto Del Rio was on WrestleTalkTV recently for an extensive interview. WrestleTalkTV uploaded the video above from the interview, where Del Rio talked about the exit of CM Punk from the WWE.

"He went from driving 1000 miles to get 30 dollars, and he made it to the big stage," Del Rio said. "But there was one day he wasn't happy what was going on."

Punk's exit led to major shakeups on the program.

"I had a match with Kofi Kingston that night for Raw, and it was only to be 8 minutes," Del Rio said. "Mike Chioda approached me and said 'We need for you to do another 14 minutes.'"

Del Rio said someone came to him and said Punk had walked out on the company.

"He's a guy that believes what he's saying, what he's thinking, and because of that he has all of the respect in the world (from me)," said Del Rio.

Del Rio said he was put in the same situation months later where he had to reinforce what he believed in. Del Rio stated that he didn't regret his firing because he fought for his beliefs.
