- Former ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness is involved with a new project called LA Fights, which is a new six-episode TV series that surrounds a small group of part-time fighters, their eccentric promoter, and their burgeoning fight league in Los Angeles, California. McGuinness wrote the series, which will feature storylines surrounding contemporary issues already such as drug abuse, concussions, sexuality and ambition, with genuine characters that are as engaging as they are different. The in-ring style will be a hybrid, drawing heavily from MMA while still remaining true to its pro wrestling roots.

McGuinness has a team of experienced producers that have set the bare bones budget at $370,000 which he is hoping to raise through Kickstarter, the platform through which he funded his powerful and highly-regarded documentary, "The Last of McGuinness," in 2012. Through the project he hopes to not only invigorate the industry but also show how smaller promotions can be profitable and provide more wrestlers the chance to make a living within the industry.
