WWE Network News: Subscribers At End Of 2014, How Free Trial Fared, Canada, Network In Middle East

As noted earlier, WWE today announced financial results for its fourth quarter ended December 31, 2014. The full earnings release is here.

Revenues for the WWE Network increased 64% from the prior year quarter and 33% from the prior year reaching a ten-year peak with the launch of WWE Network. WWE Network added 85,000 subscribers during the quarter, a 12% increase from September 30, and reached 816,000 subscribers at year-end. The Network added 336,000 subscribers, which was 17% above the gross subscriber additions in the preceding quarter. Of those, 44,000 were international subscribers.

Through January 27, WWE Network had attracted more than 1.4 million unique subscribers with 71% of these subscribers active as of that date.

OSN, the leading pay-TV network in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and WWE today announced a five-year partnership to distribute WWE Network as a premium, linear channel in time for WrestleMania on Sunday, March 29, exclusively on OSN. The agreement will run concurrent with WWE and OSN's existing partnership to air WWE's flagship programming, Raw and SmackDown, as well as NXT, Superstars and more in the region.

Rogers also announced today that it has reached carriage agreements for WWE Network with multiple television providers, providing more Canadian fans with access to premium WWE programming. In addition to Rogers and Eastlink, the premium linear TV channel will now also be available to Cogeco Cable Canada, Shaw and Shaw Direct, TELUS Optik TV and TELUS Satellite TV, and Videotron subscribers.
