Shawn Michaels Talks Making Changes To His Angle With Daniel Bryan, Training Bryan, More

With Daniel Bryan heading to WWE Fast Lane with another chance to main event WrestleMania, his former trainer Shawn Michaels appeared on Chris Jericho's Talk Is Jericho podcast to discuss several topics. Among those was HBK's idea to change their interaction during the program with the Authority in late 2013.

Originally HBK was simply supposed to superkick Bryan and go back to being off of television. Michaels, understanding the importance of the angle, told WWE that he'd come back the next day to get stretched by Bryan on TV.

"With the Bryan stuff, everyone knows that I trained him. You can't bring back any kind of Hall of Famer that's connected to this guy, then I kick him then I leave. Let me just try to button up something for you here," said Michaels.

Michaels said that WWE wasn't sure if he'd be available to add more to the storyline but he insisted because he didn't want to leave the situation wide open.

Michaels talked about training Bryan early on, saying that he knew that the now 4-time champion was something special.

"It was him, (Brian) Kendrick and Lance Cade. You could see that (they) would be three guys that were willing to pay the price and wait and starve. I remember telling (Bryan) and Kendrick that (Lance) is bigger, he's going to get the first look. Eventually talent makes its way to the top. They were there all the time. They came hungry and stayed hungry," Michaels said.
