NJPW On AXS Results (3/13): Okada Vs. Testuya Naito IWGP World Championship Match

Tetsuya Naito vs. Kazuchika Okada (c)

Okada starts off with a headlock that leads to a series between the two, that ends up in them squaring off again. The two avoid each other until Naito hits a dropkick and armdrag.

Okada sends Naito to the outside and drags him to the ramp. He gets about a third the way up the ramp and hits a big basement dropkick and just leaves Naito there. Naito barely makes it back in by the 20 count before the commercial.

Back from the break Okada is still in control, slamming Naito to the mat and landing an Eddie Guerrero-style slingshot senton back in to the ring. Okada then locks on the DID, as Naito struggles to break free. Naito finally reaches the ropes after a full minute in the hold.

Naito moves out of the corner, causing a charging Okada to crash and burn into the corner. Naito follows up with a nice slingshot corner dropkick and a big forearm.

The two are outside brawling, and Okada can't hit the Tombstone, and instead eats a big tornado DDT to the floor. Back inside, Naito hits a big missile dropkick to Okada's back. Naito locks on the Puma Blanca, but Okada is at the ropes.

Okada no sells some punches, which only serves to piss Naito off. Naito blasts Okada with several headbutts until Okada hoists him on the top rope and lands a beautiful dropkick that sends Naito outside the ring. Naito is grabbing his knee as we go to the break.

Back from commercial Okada hits an awesome draping DDT outside the ring. Inside, he does the Rainmaker pose but can't pull off the move. Naito turns Heavy Rain into a huge DDT, then locks on the Puma Blanca.

Naito goes to the top rope, but Okada drags him down by his injured leg, then flapjacks him. Okada follows up with a DDT, and ties on Red Ink in the middle of the ring as we go to our next break.

Back from the commercial Okada unsuccessfully works for the Tombstone, but Naito headbutts his way out. Okada turns the tides momentarily but runs into a big running elbow. Naito follows up with an avalanche Franksteiner and a dragon suplex, but Okada manages to kick out.

Naito with Gloria, but just gets a two count and then eats canvas on a Stardust Press attempt. Okada capitalizes with a neckbreaker and Heavy Rain, but Naito kicks out. Okada goes for a Rainmaker, but Naito rolls him up for another two count.

Naito avoids another Rainmaker and rings Okada's bell with a big slap. An Okada dropkick gets another Naito roll up, but no three count. Okada slows things down after hitting another big dropkick to lead us to the final commercial break.

We come back and Okada plants Naito with a Tombstone. Naito reverses another Rainmaker, but Okada hits another Tombstone and a Rainmaker to win the match.

Winner: Kazuchika Okada via pinfall (Rainmaker) to retain the IWGP Championship

After the match, Naito is still laying on the mat. Okada is at is press conference and says that something special would be happening for him and this was the start. Naito said he couldn't make his dream come true, and nothing is wrong with being jealous or having a dream.
