Former ROH Champion Set To Retire

According to Pro Wrestling NOAH's official website, 36-year old Takeshi Morishima is set to retire.

The website says that Morishima got blood tests back from his doctor, and was advised to retire. Morishima accepted the doctors advice and has decided to hang up his boots.

Morishima made his name in both NOAH and Ring of Honor, winning the Ring of Honor World championship from Homicide in February 2007. He'd go on to hold the title for over seven months before dropping it to Nigel McGuinness.

Morishima had a set of tryout matches in WWE the following year, facing Charlie Haas in August of 2008, and another with Jamie Noble. Nothing came of it, and he also finished up with Ring of Honor shortly after.

The 17-year veteran left an imprint on the business in Japan as a three time GHC Heavyweight Champion, as well as a five time GHC Tag Team Champion. He also was a two time world champion in Harley Race's World League Wrestling.
