Steve Austin Talks Being On WWE 2K16 Cover Over Current Stars, Rumors Of Past Heat With WWE, More

During this year's WrestleMania season, speculation ran rampant as to whether WWE and Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin were at odds. Little did anyone know throughout that period, WWE, Austin, and 2K Sports had reached an agreement to feature the former WWF Champion on the cover of the upcoming WWE2K16.

"I'm very excited and very honored about it," Austin said of the agreement on his latest podcast. "About 99 percent of people are happy about it."

Austin noted that while he's received overwhelmingly positive reaction to the spot, he understands why another group of people don't want him on the video game cover.

"The (others) not happy, looking for a current superstar, hey man I understand," Austin explained.

Austin also said that all of this was happening while reports were flying of heat existing between he and WWE, but he wasn't able to really say anything about the cover.

"All this was going on when I had alleged heat between WWE, and I couldn't say anything because it wasn't time to announce it. For them to dust me off and bring me out of the closet means a lot," Austin said.

Before concluding his thoughts, Austin thanked the dozens of talents he worked with during his run in the WWE.

"It's not all about the Attitude era, I'm way down with everything these cats are doing today, but I wanted to give credit to all those guys I worked with in the Attitude era. I got to work on top, but it's not a one man show. We had one of the best rosters in the history of the business, and you don't have the opportunity to do something like this on your own," he said.
