Jim Ross On The Brock Lesnar Gay Character Rumors

Last week, more details emerged regarding a proposed gay character in WWE more than ten years ago. The Wrestling Observer recently noted that Brock Lesnar was pitched to fill the role.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross, who was with the company at the time, doesn't seem to remember things the same way. Ross updated the Q&A section of his website recently, and responded to the rumors.

"Another ridiculous tale from the IWC. That one is truly absurd," Ross wrote.

The only issue with this is that former WWE creative writer Seth Mates pretty much confirmed that the pitch happened. Mates was quick to say that anyone in the company could pitch ideas, but it doesn't mean they were on the table, so it's quite possible that the idea never made it to Jim Ross.

According to the original Observer report, the idea was pitched, but those who came up with the idea never heard anything back about it. The creative team instead went with the idea of Billy & Chuck.

It's worth noting that Mates also said that several facts in the original report were wrong, including who pitched it and when it was pitched.
