Tyrus Talks Bet With CM Punk Over WWE HOF, WWE Mishandling Ryback, Getting 'Catfished' By WWE, Taker

Recently on The Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, TNA's Tyrus, formerly known as Brodus Clay in WWE, talked about the WWE Hall of Fame, getting pushed and depushed in WWE, and WWE dropping the ball with the likes of Ryback, Cesaro, and Bray Wyatt.

According to Tyrus, the WWE Hall of Fame has gone downhill since the induction of Sunny. In Tyrus's opinion, Sunny's induction has lowered the bar for who may be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the future.

"From the fan's perspective, it's like what are the qualifications to get in the Hall of Fame anymore? I'm not saying that she didn't deserve... You know what? I'm saying Sunny probably didn't deserve to go [into the WWE Hall of Fame] as far as managers. Just saying. I don't remember anyone going like, 'the incredible insight from Sunny drove us to that victory'," Tyrus continued. "And here's the funny thing, like, it opened the door for a lot of different people that probably wouldn't have gotten into the Hall of Fame."

Tyrus claimed that he has a bet with former WWE Superstar CM Punk over whether Rosa Mendes will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame one day.

"CM Punk and I, and this is the first time I'll talk about this, we have a bet. We have a $20 bet on the Hall of Fame that [Milena] Roucka [also known as Rosa Mendes] goes to the Hall of Fame. Roucka, Rosa Mendes, goes to the Hall of Fame before or at the same time as CM Punk."

In regards to his strong debut and cool off in WWE, Tyrus said he got "catfished" by WWE.

"I got catfished by WWE constantly. You're 26 – 0, and then you run into the Big Show and then you're 0 – 26. And then I would get started. We'd get started. And then I'd get stopped. We'd get stopped. Get started, get stopped." Tyrus joked, "I was like the catfish internet date. The first month you talked to me, it was awesome. Then, I sent you a couple of pictures that you really weren't sure were me. And then we met at the coffee shop and you're like, 'you are not the person in the person in the picture. I'm sorry.'"

As for why Tyrus never complained about his depush, he admitted that there is a fine line between being a team player and being the guy who questions everything. Tyrus claimed that he hoped that by not questioning anything, he would get to a point of respect with the company that they would ask him for his input on the creative end.

"I never questioned anything. If I was told to do something, I just tried to do it to the best of my ability. There were guys that would question things and that probably served them well, but I always had this stupid sense of, 'oh, I'm doing the right thing and I'll be rewarded for it because I'm doing the right thing'," Tyrus admitted. "If they say, 'tonight you're putting such and such over', it shouldn't be an issue because it's about the match and it's about entertaining and getting a chance to be out there."

Tyrus acknowledged that he was not the only performer WWE has failed in recent memory. According to Tyrus, the biggest missed opportunity for WWE was with Ryback. Tyrus believes that Ryback could have been the big breakout star to replace current WWE United States Champion John Cena.

"Ryback, I thought, should have beat CM Punk at Hell In A Cell [2012]. I think if he would have captured the [WWE] championship he probably would have been the next big, big blockbuster guy".

Tyrus indicated that Cesaro is the best professional wrestler in the world today and he is underutilized by WWE.

"I honestly think Cesaro should be on, like, his third world title reign. Oh yeah, I think Cesaro is probably the best wrestler to put on a pair of boots right now."

Also, Tyrus suggested that Bray Wyatt should have defeated the Undertaker at WrestleMania 31.

"I think Taker beating [Bray] Wyatt, and these are all just my opinions, Taker beating Wyatt at WrestleMania [31] I didn't think it was good for anybody."
