- The Chicago Business Journal recently ran this story about WWE Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer Michelle D. Wilson and a story she told at the Sports Business Journal's Game Changers event last month. She talked about taking a corporate job out of business school as a brand marketer, and only getting a $200 bonus check at the end of the year. She went to her boss and explained how much she had done, and made her case for a bigger bonus. The next day her bonus had increased substantially to $25,000.

"My point is that you have to manage your own career, and you have to not be afraid to ask for what you want. And I think that women tend to sit back and think that somebody is going to hand it to you because you work really hard and you work really smart and you're a collaborator and all the things you should be," Wilson said. "And sometimes it doesn't happen that way."
