TNA Knockout Velvet Sky Responds To Criticism Over WWE Pandering On Twitter

During an interview last week with Channel Guide Magazine, Bubba Ray Dudley offered his thoughts on the possibility of girlfriend and TNA Knockout Velvet Sky joining WWE to be his team's valet, or "Duchess of Dudleyville."

"It's no secret that me and Velvet Sky are together," said the wrestler formerly known as Bully Ray. "If you go on Twitter, I think the entire Twitter-verse would like to see that. She is probably the most over female wrestler out there that has never been in WWE. She looks phenomenal. I think the fans and the WWE Universe would love to see her in a WWE ring. Who knows? Maybe it will happen one day."

Despite her affiliation with TNA Wrestling, Velvet Sky frequently tweets the idea of joining WWE to manage The Dudley Boyz. Earlier this month, she tweeted photos of herself in Dudley Boyz attire to hype their WWE live event return to Madison Square Garden.

Two weeks later, Bubba Ray polled fans on Twitter on whether they would like to see Velvet in a WWE ring. She later responded, "Seems as though the Universe knows what they want..."

She also asked fans last week what her name and finishing move in WWE would be called (in response to a fan saying he would love to see her join The Dudley Boyz).

She also made this tweet over the weekend acknowledging Bubba Ray's interview remarks.

On Tuesday, Velvet Sky responded to a fan on Twitter criticizing her for continuously pandering to WWE despite her affiliation with TNA (he did not tag her account).

Prior to joining TNA in 2007, Velvet Sky, whose real name is Jamie Szantyr, made a few appearances for WWE. On a February 2005 episode of SmackDown!, she appeared as an extra during a party JBL held in front of fans. In her one and only match inside a WWE ring, she was defeated by Victoria at a Heat taping in July 11, 2005 (video below). At a Heat taping in January 2006, she was planted in the audience to be selected to dance with The Heart Throbs after a match.

Under her real name, she auditioned for the 2007 Diva Search, but did not make the final eight. Velvet Sky addressed her audition during a 2012 interview with The Post and Courier.

"The only thing I'm going to say about that is the only reason I did that is because there were powers at be within that organization that told me they wanted to see me do it. Some higher-up people in the organization came to me and told me that they would like to see me do it," she told Mike Mooneyham. "It's not a way that I wanted to break into wrestling. But if someone is basically telling you that they want to see you do this, then you do it. You bite the bullet and you do it."
