Vince Russo Reveals How He Would Have Booked WWE Title Being Vacated, Raw This Week, More

The WWE kicked off their 16-man WWE World Heavyweight Title tournament Monday night, setting the stage for a new champion to be crowned at Survivor Series later this month. The gap left by Seth Rollins became apparent as the night went on.

On this week's edition of the Wrestling Inc podcast, former WWF creative member Vince Russo talked about how he would have handled the situation if he were in charge.

"This is really the absence of a storyline. All of a sudden, the champion gets hurt, he's out 6-9 months and the biggest prize in the industry is up for grabs. That wasn't supposed to happen. That's what I would have made the show. Everything revolves around this belt," Russo said.

Russo also saw this situation as a prime opportunity for the WWE to highlight wrestlers that previously weren't in the title picture, something the company hasn't done much of in recent months.

"All of a sudden, guys have a shot that were nowhere near the title. They were never going to get a shot. It's up for grabs. We could have seen that in the back, with vignettes, with promos. We didn't see any of that. We saw a tournament. The winner moved on, the loser went home. It should have been about this thing should have been up for grabs for whoever wants it the most, and they should have been killing each other from the beginning of the show to get that title over," said Russo.

Russo also talks about why he couldn't take Tyler Breeze seriously, and several other topics alongside hosts Sean Ross Sapp and Raj Giri.
