Top Media Outlet Remembers Roddy Piper, WWE Legends Wants Separate HOF Wings For Defunct Promotions

- The New York Times Magazine has an article here looking at some of the great artists and entertainers that we lost in 2015. Roddy Piper, who passed away this past July, is featured in the piece as "the bad-guy wrestler we couldn't stop rooting for." The piece stated:

Piper never won a world championship, but he didn't need to. He was the W.W.E.'s hero, his energy a shot of adrenaline into wrestling's weary heart. In 2005, he was inducted into its Hall of Fame. And in July, when he died in his sleep from cardiac arrest at 61, it was hard not to think that he had used up all his energy prematurely, keeping all those other clowns afloat for so many years.

Tickets are already on sale here and will feature a meet-and-greet including appearances by Bill Goldberg, Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner and more. During the interview, Hart made the case for separate wings for defunct promotions.

"To me the Hall of Fame should have a section for a WCW Hall of Fame, WWE Hall of Fame, ECW Hall of Fame and one section for the celebrities," Hart said.
