Original Plan For John Cena At The Royal Rumble, Who Might Be Replacing Him

As noted, WWE has been teasing a U.S. title match for Kalisto following his upset victory over champion Alberto Del Rio on SmackDown last week.

Dave Meltzer recently stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that the original plan was for Del Rio to defend his U.S. title against John Cena at The Royal Rumble. With Cena's shoulder injury and surgery last week, Kalisto is expected to face Del Rio at the pay-per-view for the title.
