Big Rematch, Two Championship Fights Set For UFC 197 In April

The UFC's pay-per-view schedule was relatively thin before Saturday night, as the company had announced major fights, but not major dates for several cards. That changed, as April 23rd's UFC 197 got two big time fights.

Jon Jones will finally get the opportunity to regain the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship he never lost, as he'll take on champion Daniel Cormier in a big re-match to headline the show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jones was forced to vacate the championship after a hit-and-run incident last year.

Cormier won the vacant title over Anthony "Rumble" Johnson, and later defended it against Alexander Gustafsson. Jon Jones has yet to fight since his January 2015 victory over Cormier, which was a rather one-sided battle.

Co-main eventing the show will be all-time great flyweight Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson, defending his title against the #3-ranked Henry Cejudo. Cejudo, who was once sought out by the WWE, is one of the only remaining challenges atop the Flyweight division for Johnson, who has dominated the rest of the field.

Cejudo offers a unique skill set, as he was an Olympic Gold Medalist in the 2008 Beijing Olympic games in freestyle wrestling. Cejudo is undefeated at 10-0, including a 4-0 run since joining the UFC in 2014.
