Ric Flair Says Nothing Can Save TNA, Talks How Much It Would Cost To Compete With WWE

Recently on WOOOOO! Nation with Ric Flair, 'The Nature Boy' interviewed Bruce Prichard. During the podcast, Flair claimed that nothing could be done to save TNA.

"They've had their opportunity. It's not going to be there again, in my opinion." Flair continued, "Sting is gone. Kurt Angle is gone. AJ Styles is gone. I mean, I'm not by any means demeaning the talent that's there, but I don't even know who's there anymore."

Later in the show, Flair stated that Vince McMahon does not feel that WWE has any competition anymore and elaborated on the idea that being a true competitor to WWE is prohibitively expensive.

"I can remember when I was there, when [McMahon] told me, and I'm sure Bruce [Prichard] heard it long before I did, that he didn't have any competition in the [professional] wrestling business [and] that his only competition was Disney. That's what he said to me one time. And now, he doesn't feel like he had any competition. And the rumor went around that Rupert Murdoch was going to go against him and, you know what? They estimated, and this was 10 years ago, the estimated price would cost Rupert Murdoch back then to open up against Vince, and this was 10 years ago now [or] 15, take a guess. $450 million. That's contracts, equipment, I mean, if you look at what the company [has now], the company has 22 eighteen-wheelers. Are you kidding me? And the hotels on a Monday or a Sunday have 230 or 280 people in them. That's a lot of overhead, guys."
