Backstage News On Shane McMahon's WWE Deal

Dave Meltzer noted in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer that the current plan is just for Shane McMahon to be a performer until WrestleMania, however that can always change.

"But even those closest to the family and near the top recognize the way Vince thinks," he wrote. "Already people are noting that the family soap opera behind the scenes is likely to become far more interesting than the one playing out on the screen."

Meltzer also wrote that the deal was made four weeks ago after it became apparent that the planned John Cena vs. Undertaker match at WrestleMania wouldn't be happening. It was noted that Vince McMahon was "devastated" because he planned on the match between the two legends to carry the event.
