Roman Reigns Injury Update, Speculation On Match Where Injury Occurred, Reigns Not At RAW?

As noted, Roman Reigns was kept off of television this week and live events last weekend after undergoing nasal surgery last week. Dave Meltzer noted in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the surgery was for a deviated septum, which WebMD reports is "a condition in which the nasal septum — the bone and cartilage that divide the nasal cavity of the nose in half — is significantly off center, or crooked, making breathing difficult."

Reigns is not scheduled to appear at this weekend's WWE live events. It should be noted that the Allstate Arena in Chicago – the site of this Monday's RAW – recently updated their listing for the event and Reigns is not mentioned.

Wrestling Inc. user Zalaphoto posted the video above, which garnered some traction on social media this week. He speculated that Reigns actually suffered the injury during a match with Sheamus on December 30, 2015 in Baltimore. Zalaphoto sent us the following describing what transpires in the video:

You can see part of the table smash him in the nose. After going through the table, you can see that Sheamus noticed he was hurt, and they whisper something to each other during the pin. I didn't catch the aftermath on video, but Roman's nose was bleeding, so the referee had to put gloves on to check him out. Sheamus stalled by taunting the crowd. After a minute, the ref cleared Roman to continue and they finished the match.

I don't know if Roman broke his nose or what, but he seemed pretty frustrated about it, sighing and cursing to himself. You can see from the photo at the end that his nose was injured to some degree.

Ever since this happened, Roman has had a scar on the bridge of his nose. Look at any closeup footage of his face taken since 12/30/15 and you can see it.

I believe his recent nose surgery, if real, was actually related to the injury he sustained in this video.
