WWE NXT Recap (3/16): Shinsuke Nakamura Appears, Eva Gets Beaten Up, Number One Contenders Set, More

- Sami Zayn comes out and says he almost became number one contender, but Joe earned it. He still thinks that he deserves something special soon. William Regal comes out and says Zayn is right, and at NXT TakeOver Dallas, Zayn will face Shinsuke Nakamura! Nakamura appears on a cell-phone shot video on the video board.
Hype Bros vs. Kenneth Crawford & Angelo Dawkins
Hype Bros dominate this match. Zack Ryder gets in all of his signature offense before being cut down. Mojo gets the hot tag and the Hype Bros win with the Hype Ryder.
Winner: Hype Bros via pinfall (Hype Ryder)

- Emma and Dana Brooke run into Deonna Purrazzo backstage and make fun of her. Deonna says she's going to stop Emma, but gets patted on the head.
Deonna Purrazzo vs. Emma (w/ Dana Brooke)
Emma takes control early on and dominates Purrazzo, hanging her from the tree of woe and attacking the back with kicks. Emma connects with a brutal Emma Sandwich and then applies a rear chinlock. Purrazzo gets a little offense, but Emma applies the Emma Lock for the submission win.
Winner: Emma via submission (Emma Lock)
Going back to NXT looks like it was a good career move for Emma.
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Jessy Sorensen
Ciampa dropkicks Sorensen into the corner and attacks him with knees and a discus clothesline for two. Sorensen gets a dropkick of his own, but gets folded into the turnbuckles and hit with a knee. Ciampa applies the bridged Fujiwara armbar for the win.
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa via submission (bridging Fujiwara armbar)
Bayley & Asuka vs. Eva Marie & Nia Jax
Eva Marie is trying to get away from Asuka and forearms her. Asuka beats the living hell out of Eva. Bayley is tagged in and is attacked by Eva. Eva smacks Asuka, but Bayley suplexes her. Nia accidentally leg drops Eva and gets dropkicked off the apron. Asuka kicks Eva and Bayley connects with the Bayley-to-Belly for the win.
Winners: Bayley & Asuka via pinfall (Bayley-to-Belly)
After the match, William Regal announces that Asuka will challenge Bayley for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT TakeOver: Dallas.
- Austin Aries is interviewed and says he always knew he wanted to come to WWE. He says Corbin should have asked him for advice, because he earned his contract, unlike Corbin who was just given one. He hypes up their match at NXT TakeOver: Dallas.
Number One Contender's Match
American Alpha vs. Vaudevillains
Gable and Gotch go back and forth with some great mat wrestling until Gable lands a hip throw. English is tagged in and is met with an arm drag. American Alpha take to the ring and dump both of the Vaudevillains out.
We come back from commercial to see Gable being worked over in the corner of the Vaudevillains. Jordan gets tagged in and goes suplex crazy. He's pulled out of the ring and Gable hits one of the craziest German suplexes ever. Jordan belly-to-belly suplexes Gotch on the floor as English powerbombs Gable for two inside the ring. Grand Amplitude gets the win!
Winners: American Alpha via pinfall (Grand Amplitude)
