'The Phenomenal One' AJ Styles recently spoke with 97.9/105.5 KISS FM's KISS KREW. Among other things, Styles talked about being put into a high profile feud with Chris Jericho upon his WWE debut and whether he got any heat for knocking out The Miz's tooth.

Styles claimed that he could not have asked for a better opponent to start off his WWE career than 'Y2J'.

"I mean, listen, Chris Jericho is a future legend. There's no doubt about that. He's going to be a [WWE] Hall Of Famer. There's no doubt about that. He really went the same path that I have, with Japan. He wrestled in the [United] States, went to Japan. I mean, him and I are very similar. And the fact that I got the opportunity to be in the ring with him as soon as I started in the WWE, I mean, you couldn't ask for a better opponent."

When asked whether he received any heat backstage for knocking out The Miz's tooth with a spinning backfist on WWE SmackDown, Styles replied in the negative. Styles went on to put over The Miz as one of the toughest performers he has ever wrestled.

"You would have [thought] that, but I think I got applauded, actually, for knocking out The Miz's tooth. Let me tell you something, Miz is one of the toughest cats I've ever been in the ring with. He may not come across that way, but he is. He's one tough dude and you've got to respect a guy for hanging in there after getting his tooth knocked out."

In addition to these topics, Styles talked about his transition to WWE, how he got his 'Phenomenal' nickname, and more. You can check out the full interview in the video above.
