The Rock In "Fast 8" Photo, ESPN-Owned Site Looks At The Rock's Positively "Absurd" Movie Career
- FiveThirtyEight.com has an article here looking at the movie career of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, nothing that his career "is absurd" in a good way. The ESPN-owned site noted that "there's never been anyone quite like him in pop culture," and stated that his career arc "is unheard of." It looks at Johnson's progression as an actor, stating that while he wasn't a good actor when he started out, but that he worked hard to get there:
The Rock was not born with a God-given talent for acting, he wasn't born with pecs you can open bottles off of, he wasn't born with a natural charisma. He worked to get there. In the end, he's the only actor willing to admit that it's never "effortless."
