- If you missed Wednesday night's UFC Fight Night 91 "Fight of the Night" bout between Tony Ferguson and Lando Vannata, you missed a good one. Ferguson survived the upset-minded Vannata, scoring a second round submission.

That, though, is not why this bout earned $50,000 each for both fighters. Vannata, who trains out of Jackson-Wink MMA, stormed out after Ferguson and nearly finished the No. 3 ranked lightweight in the UFC. The newcomer rocked Ferguson, dropping him inside of the first round.

- UFC president Dana White will be one of the featured speakers at Donald Trump's Republican National Convention, according to a report by CBS. The list of speakers includes former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and White.

White, who has expressed his preference in Trump as the next President of the United States, will open the second night of the convention. Tebow is set for the fourth night, while golfer Natalie Gulbis opens the third.

- Rory MacDonald is leaving all doors open when it comes to his MMA free agency. The former UFC title contender completed his contract with the promotion following a loss to Stephen Thompson earlier this year, and the Canadian made it known that he is seeking the best contract possible.

Enter Bellator MMA, which has already started to open up the lines of communication with MacDonald and his representatives, according to a report on Twitter.
