A series of interviews are shown from earlier in the day. Saturday Night's Main Event style opening to the show.

First up, Kevin Owens opens an envelope that Sami Zayn was going to give to Owens son a year ago. Kevin opens it to find a birthday card and 20 dollars canadian. Owens pockets the 20 bucks and says he is out to get Zayn tonight.

Next up, Charlotte is shown in the parking lot arriving with Dana Brooke. They both cut a promo on how Sasha Banks is inferior to them.

The Miz is in his locker room as his wife Maryse applies makeup to him. Miz promotes Miz TV tonight with Bob Backlund and Darren Young.

Dean Ambrose backstage talks about the upcoming draft and what he is going to do to Kevin Owens in the main event tonight. This is followed by the usual standard Smackdown themed opening.

OPENING MATCH-SASHA BANKS VS DANA BROOKE

Sasha gets the early edge on Dana Brooke and connects with a double knee stomp that knocks Dana outside of the ring. Baseball slide by Banks on Brooke. Charlotte distracts Sasha, Dana regroups and knocks down Sasha from behind. Back in the ring. Dana has control and trash talks Sasha as she has the advantage. Sasha battles back and hits a really nicely executed cross body block. After a series of pinning reversals in the ring by both Banks and Brooke. Charlotte gets on the apron and Banks knocks her off. Sasha then applies the bank statement after another roll up reversal and defeats Dana Brooke.

SASHA BANKS DEFEATS DANA BROOKE BY SUBMISSION

Post match, Charlotte attacks Sasha. Throws her over the announce table and then stands tall on the table with the womens title in hand. Sasha Banks is attended to by the medical team.

The announce team hypes that this is the last thursday smackdown and the upcoming draft on tuesday. Byron Saxton brings up the first ever Smackdown and that this is the 882nd ever edition of Smackdown and now they are going Live. Clip shown from Monday's raw of the commissioner announcements. This is followed by Shane McMahon's tweet where he announced that he has finalized a deal with a new Smackdown GM and will announce it on Raw. Shane McMahon is shown on camera backstage talking with Dean Ambrose as we go to the break.

Back from the break. A WWE website plug for the fantasy mock draft. Lana is in the ring to introduce her fiance, US Champion Rusev for this upcoming match. Video package is shown of the recent feud between Zack Ryder and Rusev as Dolph Ziggler is introduced to the ring.

NON TITLE MATCH- RUSEV VS DOLPH ZIGGLER

Rusev takes over early. Mauro Ranallo runs down the athletic backgrounds of both Ziggler and Rusev. Nice touch. Typical Mauro putting over the guys in the ring and their credentials. Ziggler tries to connect with a cross body but Rusev turns it into a swinging slam as we go to the commercial break.... We are back and Rusev is preparing to come off of the second rope with a splash but he misses. Dolph hits several strikes and kicks on Rusev but Rusev knocks Dolph down with one blow. Dolph tries 2 consecutive aerial moves vs Rusev but both times Rusev counters and on the 2nd attempt, He hits a power bomb on Ziggler for a 2 count. Rusev attempts to kick Dolph but Ziggler counters with a sleeper. Rusev escapes but is hit with a swinging DDT by Dolph and that is followed up with a fameasser for a near fall. A kick and a big knee by Rusev takes Ziggler down. As Rusev prepares to finish Ziggler off. Zack Ryder's new theme music hits and he arrives to ringside. Dolph tries to take advantage of the distraction but Rusev gives Dolph a german suplex over the top rope. Rusev then goes outside the ring and throws Dolph into Zack Ryder and then throws both of them into the ring. Rusev goes after Ryder but Ziggler sneaks up on Rusev and pins him with a roll up.

DOLPH ZIGGLER DEFEATS RUSEV BY PINFALL

Post match. An irate Rusev starts ripping apart the turnbuckles in the ring and starts to dismantle the announce table. Throwing monitors around..... Promo for tonight's two main matches and a review of The compound fight between The Wyatts and New Day is promised after the commercial break.

Back from the break. Video of The New Day's visit to the Wyatt compound is shown from monday. Following the video is the announcement of their 6 man tag team match at Battleground next sunday.

The Club arrives on the scene for their next upcoming match with Enzo and Cass as we head to another break.

Back from the break. Highlights are shown from John Cena at The ESPY's last night..... The Club are in the ring as they await the arrival of Enzo and Cass. After Enzo and Cass's usual routine/entrance. Enzo takes issue with The Club saying they are too sweet. Even salt looks like sugar. Zo notices that the crowd didn't like that last comment. So Enzo says he senses a "cup a haters". He calls the Club salty. Cass is on the mic and he states that the last thing on his list is to beat up The Club but they have nothing else to do anyway. Strangely weak promo by Zo and Cass closed by the usual Sawft chant.

AJ STYLES AND KARL ANDERSON VS ENZO AMORE AND BIG CASS

Styles and Enzo start off the match. After a dropkick by Amore sends AJ to the corner. They both tag out to their partners. Cass dominates The Club with a flurry of power moves. The Club is on the outside of the ring reeling. Cass presses Enzo over his head and throws him over the top rope and onto The Club as we go to break.... We are back and Cass is beating down Karl Anderson in the corner and then tags in Enzo and does some tandem offense together. Karl Anderson regains control for the Club and tags in AJ Styles, who goes to work on Amore and hits a pendulum back breaker for a 2 count. Styles hits several quick strikes to Enzo's left leg and continues to work on the leg. He tags in Karl who continues the same strategy. Several quick tags. Old school tag team wrestling here. Isolating a body part and working on it. Enzo is reeling and stumbles to the outside. Amore fights back and rams Karl into the barricade and then trips up AJ on the apron. As Enzo attempts to tag in his partner Cass, Karl Anderson runs in and intercepts Enzo Amore with an awesome flying knee to prevent the tag. Great spot... Enzo still trying to fight back hits a knee on Anderson who counters with a slam but misses a senton. Anderson crawls to AJ to make the tag. Styles stops Enzo from tagging Amore temporarily but Enzo hits a tornado ddt on Styles and as he dives to make the tag to Big Cass. Luke Gallows pulls Cass away from the apron. Amore made it to his corner but no one was there. Styles clamps on the calf crusher on Enzo and he is forced to submit. Good match.

AJ STYLES AND KARL ANDERSON DEFEAT ENZO AMORE AND BIG CASS

The announce team remarks on the tag match they just witnessed and now highlights are shown of Brock Lesnar at UFC 200. New graphic is shown hyping Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton at SummerSlam. Also promoted is The highlight reel hosted by Chris Jericho with the returning Randy Orton at Battleground.

Back from the break. Breezango and The Lucha Dragons arrive to the ring setting up this singles match.

KALISTO VS TYLER BREEZE

Byron Saxton mentions that Kalisto could be the #1 pick in the draft and Jerry Lawler mocks him. Early on in this match, Breeze hits a superkick and attempts to pin Kalisto 4 consecutive times after the kick with no success. Breeze has control of this match early. He plays to the crowd and his partner as he beats down Kalisto. Lawler mentions that Owens should be the #1 pick.... Back to the action, Breeze attempts to clothesline Kalisto who does a matrix style back flip to avoid the move and then connects with a kick and a spinning corkscrew plancha. After a missed springboard into the ring, Kalisto hits a Salida del Sol on Breeze to get the victory.

KALISTO DEFEATS TYLER BREEZE

Back from the break. Maryse is in the ring and introduces her husband, The Miz for MizTV. Miz introduces his guests Darren Young and his life coach, Bob Backlund. The Miz starts things off by showing highlights of Bob Backlund's legendary career but when he goes to show highlights of Darren Young's career.... There are none. A test pattern is shown on the titan tron. Very funny. Miz says he typed Darren Young into the WWE Network search bar and no results were found. Darren says he will make a highlight by taking Miz's IC title at Battleground. Backlund says that Miz is not a role model who is worthy of being a champion. Maryse tells Bob that 1982 called and they said that you are old.... Miz calls Backlund a cross between Forest Gump and Howdy Doody. Darren Young gets offended that Bob Backlund is being insulted. Miz tells Young that he needs to be taught a lesson by a "champion from this century". Darren Young promises again to take the Miz's title and gets in the Miz's face, who walks off with his wife.

Shane McMahon is once again shown backstage talking this time to R Truth as we head to the break.

When we return from the break. The medical team is checking on Sasha Banks as Charlotte walks in to announce that there will not be a women's title match for Sasha at Battleground but a tag match pitting Charlotte and Dana vs Sasha and a partner of her choosing.

SMACKDOWN MAIN EVENT- DEAN AMBROSE VS KEVIN OWENS

Before this match can start. Out comes Seth Rollins to join the commentary team. Kevin Owens blindsides Dean Ambrose while he is distracted by Seth Rollins. Dean eventually confronts Seth at the commentary table and Seth attacks Dean as the bell rings. Sami Zayn's music hits and he runs to the ring to even the score with Owens and Rollins as we go to the break.

DEAN AMBROSE AND KEVIN OWENS BATTLE TO A NO CONTEST

Because of spoilers. There are those who know that the original main event of Ambrose vs Owens wasn't going to be the actual main event. We won't have to worry about spoilers anymore with Smackdown going live this coming tuesday.

SMACKDOWN MAIN EVENT PART TWO- DEAN AMBROSE AND SAMI ZAYN VS SETH ROLLINS AND KEVIN OWENS

Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens start off this tag match brawling. Owens throws Dean into the barricade and rolls him into the ring and tags in Seth Rollins. Seth works over Dean Ambrose in the ring as the commentators discuss whom they would pick with the first pick in the draft. Owens is now in the ring misses with a senton. Dean tags in Zayn who runs in and hits a swinging DDT on Seth Rollins. Both Rollins and Owens are on the outside together when Zayn and Ambrose hit pescados in stereo. Lawler asks Mauro if a pescado is what he had for lunch today... Back in the ring, KO regains control for his team with a neckbreaker as we go to break.

Back from the break. Owens is still in control. He tags in Rollins who continues his team's momentum with chops and two forearms to Sami . Sami fights back and hits a Michinoku driver to Rollins and tags in Dean who comes in brawling with Owens and Rollins. He hits a suplex and a flying elbow on Owens for a near fall. He then hits a running bulldog. Seth Rollins tries to spring board into the ring but Ambrose dodges him and hits a neck breaker. Zayn is in the ring fighting with Owens. He blocks a pop up power bomb with a dropkick that sends Owens to the outside. Rollins hits an enzugiri on Zayn. Ambrose hits a lunatic lariat on Rollins and both men are down in the ring. Dean attempts Dirty Deeds on Seth, Rollins counters into a pedigree, Dean counters into a backdrop and tags in Sami Zayn. Sami hits a flying cross body on Seth for a near fall. Zayn hits an exploder suplex on Rollins into the corner. He attempts a helluva kick but Owens gets on the apron. Ambrose flies through the ropes onto Owens on the outside but KO catches Dean and throws him into the steel steps. Meanwhile in the ring, Rollins attempts a pedigree but Zayn counters and hits a tornado DDT. He tries another helluva kick but Owens pulls Seth out of the way. Rollins hits the pedigree and pins Sami Zayn.

SETH ROLLINS AND KEVIN OWENS DEFEAT DEAN AMBROSE AND SAMI ZAYN

Post match. The commentators hype this monday's WWE title match with Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins. Owens attacks Zayn on the outside of the ring. Dean makes the save for Sami and then charges into the ring after Seth. Both Rollins and Ambrose are brawling. Dean attempts to hit dirty deeds on Seth but he escapes. One last plug by Mauro Ranallo for Monday's Raw and next Tuesday's Smackdown Live as the show goes off the air.
