THE UNDERCARD

JUICE ROBINSON DEFEATED DAVID FINLAY

Rare singles match on the undercard. Both these two men have teamed together at the previous G1 events and lost. This was their chance to shine on their own and get a victory. North American fans would know "Juice" as the former CJ Parker in NXT. Of course, David being the son of noted Irish wrestler,Fit Finlay. Decent opener. Juice gets the win with his finisher, Pulp Fiction.

RYUSUKE TAGUCHI & TOGI MAKABE DEFEATED SANADA & BUSHI

Makabe gets the win for his team by pinning BUSHI with a king kong knee drop. Standard tag, Makabe has been made to look real strong during all these G1 events.

BAD LUCK FALE, TAMA TONGA & YUJIRO TAKAHASHI DEFEATED HIROSHI TANAHASHI, KUSHIDA & CAPTAIN NEW JAPAN

The Bullet Club trio gets the victory. Captain New Japan takes another pinfall on another undercard multi man match. This time from getting a modified DDT from Takahashi. The captain is comedic fodder in these matches. At this point, You'd think he'd be demoted from the position of captain.

KAZUCHIKA OKADA, GEDO, HIROOKI GOTO, TOMOHIRO ISHII & NAOMICHI MARUFUJI DEFEATED HIROYOSHI TENZAN, SATOSHI KOJIMA, TIGER MASK IV, JUSHIN LIGER & MANABU NAKANISHI

Goto wins it for his team by hitting the GTR on Tiger Mask in this 10 man tag team match. Focus of this match was on the teammates who will be facing each other tomorrow in Okada and Goto, as well as the opponents like Tenzan and Marufuji.

G1 B BLOCK MATCHES

TOMOAKI HONMA DEFEATED YOSHI-HASHI

The battle of the two crowd favorite underdogs. The long time underdog in Honma is off to a superb start by his standards. This was the kind of babyface match where the crowd had a hard time picking a side. Honma gets the win and 2 more points with his signature flying head butt, The Kokeshi.

YUJI NAGATA DEFEATED 'KING OF DARKNESS' EVIL

The wily veteran Nagata gets his second straight win to start off the G1. Stiff match between these two. Nagata wins this one with his backdrop hold.

KENNY OMEGA DEFEATED TORU YANO

In a tourney thus far filled with early upsets. This one went as expected and Yano who has played spoiler in the past in these tournaments hasn't lived up to his reputation. He is probably the biggest long shot of all 20 G1 participants. Omega needed this win and the 2 points and he got it. This was fairly competitive for what it was. Yano tends to bring opponents down to his level and in this match, Omega who doesn't mind wrestling a comedy style match obliged. We have seen better from Omega and we will going forward.

KATSUYORI SHIBATA DEFEATED KATSUHIKO NAKAJIMA

One of the dark horse favorites in the G1. Shibata much like Omega needed this win coming off a loss in the opening night of B block matches. Very good match between these two. Just what this particular card needed. Shibata got the victory with his penalty kick finish. One of the best strikers in wrestling on the planet. Impressive showing here by him.

TETSUYA NAITO DEFEATED MICHAEL ELGIN

Naito, one of the favorites in this block defeats Elgin with his "Destino" finish. Cool looking move especially seeing it performed on a guy the size of Elgin. For those who haven't seen it. It is a backflip three-quarter facelock inverted DDT. It's a move, The Ultimo Dragon used to use. This was a solid match between two contrasting styles. Nice showing by Elgin but he's still winless and pointless thus far.
