- WWE announced last week that Curt Hawkins would make his return on this week's SmackDown but he did not appear live, at least as of this writing. They did air a backstage vignette from Hawkins, seen above. As noted, Hawkins defeated enhancement talent Brandon Scott in tonight's dark match, his first WWE match since February 3rd, 2014.

- WWE taped the following matches tonight in Philadelphia to air on this week's Superstars:

* Kane vs. Fandango
* Jason Jordan vs. Aiden English

- As noted, the main event for next month's WWE No Mercy pay-per-view will see WWE World Champion AJ Styles defend against John Cena and Dean Ambrose in a Triple Threat. SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon did mention that Ambrose will get his one-on-one rematch with Styles at a later date. Ambrose just lost the title on Sunday night at Backlash.
