- Conor McGregor arrived in New York City just ahead of Tuesday's UFC 205 press conference and promptly put his "Notorious" gimmick on full-display. McGregor, the reigning UFC featherweight champion, challenges Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title in November. Both were on hand to kickoff the event alongside UFC president Dana White and other fighters.
"Shut your (expletive) mouth. I love New York. I run this whole (expletive)," he said."And 'Mystic Mac' predicts I'm going to KO you inside of one round."
- UFC president Dana White added one more bout to the November 12 event from Madison Square Garden, as lightweight contenders Khabib Nurmagomedov and Michael Johnson will square off. Nurmagomedov was looking at challenging Eddie Alvarez for the title, but that honor belongs to Conor McGregor.
Nurmagomedov is unbeaten in his MMA career, while Johnson recently knocked out Dustin Poirier. The two are likely to be part of the prelims, as the event features three title fights, four current division champions, four former UFC champions, two former title contenders and a handful of New York natives.
