Backstage News On Goldberg's Deal With WWE, How Many Matches He Has Scheduled

As noted, Goldberg will be appearing at this Monday's RAW in Denver to respond to Paul Heyman's challenge to a fight with Brock Lesnar. Goldberg will wrestle his first match in 12 years when he faces Lesnar at the Survivor Series next month.

Dave Meltzer noted in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the deal was put together over the last few weeks. TMZ first reported in late August that Goldberg was in talks for a WWE return.

Meltzer noted that while the deal has been in the works, it wasn't finalized until over a week ago. It was noted that the plan is for Goldberg just to wrestle the one match, although that could always change depending on the fan response. Survivor Series will be held in Toronto, a city where Goldberg has always faced negative crowd reactions.

Goldberg hasn't wrestled since defeating Lesnar at WrestleMania XX in New York City. He has made a pair of appearances for Legends of Wrestling over the past year and a half, and speared Scott Steiner at both shows. You can check out Goldberg spearing Steiner at last year's Legends of Wrestling event at Citi Field in New York in June of 2015 in the video below:
